Alternative Power Fair
Santa Monica Public Library, along with the Google Corporate office hosted an Alternative Energy Transportation Fair at the Santa Monica Public Library's Main branch in downtown Santa Monica, California, May 8, 2006.
There were about 10-15 electric, hybrids, "Plug-In Hybrids", and diesel power cars, along with several electric bicycles, electric scooters, and clip on skates(provided by Trans-Port-Station. Additionally, there were organizations and service providers present such as Plug In America, Biodiesel distributors, such as Green Depot, based in Santa Monica.
One of the big talks of the day was the International premiere of the new documentary "Who Killed The Electric Car?".
A few movies stars came by to have a look and chat it up with other folks. Santa Monica City Councilmember Kevin Mckweon also stopped by on his bicycle to have a look.
Note, the Santa Monica Public Library, main branch is right next to Google's new Santa Monica corporate office (see the Google flag flying just beneath the american flag at their Santa Monica corporate office).
BTW, if anyone knows where to get that black t-shirt with the skick person with the gapump nozzle pointed to the side of thier head and pulling the nozzle trigger, squirting gasoline through there head, as a form of suicide, please let me know, so I can include a link to the source, for anyone else interested in getting one of theos t-shirts(see picture on the right).
